Getting started is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Governor Larry Hogan announced changes to the State Employee and Retiree Wellness plan, which is a program designed to save employees money on their healthcare while improving their overall health.
Complete the required healthy activities listed below and become eligible to receive a wellness reward in 2018—enjoy enhanced benefits such as $0 copays* for all Primary Care Physician (PCP) visits:
- Sign a Wellness Agreement
- Designate a Primary Care Physician (PCP) at Enrollment
- Complete Health Risk Assessment
The State of Maryland wellness program applies to employed subscribers and their spouses and non-Medicare retirees and their spouses. Complete the wellness activities any time between January 1, 2018, and November 15, 2018. The November 15 end date ensures you will be able to enjoy $0 primary care provider copays in the month of December. Remember, the sooner you complete the activities, the sooner you earn your reward!
*To be eligible for $0 PCP copays, all activities must be completed by the fifteenth of the month for the copay to be waived by the first day of the following month. Example: If you complete all 3 activities by March 15, 2018, you will begin receiving waived copays on April 1, 2018.
You may take the health assessment as often as you like, but you can only receive the reward for it, if available, once during the reward period.
Wellness programs and rewards are separate services that are not health plan benefits and may be discontinued at any time.
Please note the following: If you completed the program with Kaiser Permanente in 2017, your rewards will remain in effect for all of 2018. If you were a program completer with another carrier in 2017, and have switched to Kaiser Permanente, your reward remains in place, though there may be a delay with records being transferred. Any copays charged will be reimbursed as needed.
