Getting started is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Governor Larry Hogan announced changes to the State Employee and Retiree Wellness plan, which is a program designed to save employees money on their healthcare while improving their overall health.
Starting January 1, 2017, complete the required healthy activities listed below and be eligible to receive a wellness reward in 2017—enjoy enhanced benefits such as $0 copays* for all Primary Care Physician (PCP) visits
- Sign a Wellness Agreement (available 2/15/17)**
- Designate a Primary Care Physician (PCP) at Enrollment
- Complete Health Risk Assessment
More information about each of these steps can be viewed below.
The State of Maryland wellness program applies to active employees, non-Medicare-eligible retirees, and non-Medicare eligible enrolled spouses. Complete the wellness activities any time between January 1, 2017, and November 15, 2017. The November 15 end date ensures you will be able to enjoy $0 primary care provider copays in the month of December.
To be eligible for $0 PCP copays, all activities must be completed by the fifteenth of the month for the copay to be waived by the first day of the following month. For example, if you complete all 3 activities by March 15, 2017, you will begin receiving waived copays on April 1, 2017. You can take the health assessment as often as you would like, but you can only receive rewards for it, if available, once during the reward period.
**If you completed steps 2 and 3 prior to 2/15, please be sure to visit kp.org/engage to sign your Wellness Agreement so you can begin receiving your reward, and enjoy $0 copays when you visit your Primary Care Physician (PCP).
Workforce health programs and rewards are separate services that are not health plan benefits and may be discontinued at any time.
